This was a Chinese takeaway with a difference.
The order, with a delivery name of "nomad", was made by a college student and was surely among the most unusual received by China's booming food delivery sector.
Nomad was actually a beggar on a very rainy night in southwest China’s Yunnan Province.

The store owner, named as Mr Chen, received the online order with a delivery address as “an overpass near Kunming University of Science and Technology.” It also mentioned that the recipient was a nomad who had been on the overpass since noon.
Mr. Chen immediately realized the anonymous order was a warmhearted gift sent to a homeless person. He delightfully packed the food and passed it to a delivery man, adding an extra helping out of his own kindness.

After a journey of twenty minutes in the rain, the food was finally delivered to a surprised old man quivering in the cold.
Based on the phone number left on the receipt, a college student Wang Ya was found to be the orderer.

“It’s very cold outside…I thought he (the homeless man) might be hungry, so I ordered some food for him to get rid of the coldness,” Wang told local media.
Touched by the story, China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba gave away 5,000 yuan (752 US dollars) to the student as a reward for his kindness. He in turn donated the money to people who needed it.
The story also went viral on Weibo, the Chinese social media platform, with many netizens praising the kindness of Wang and the restaurant owner.
