South Korea defended the title with 4 minutes 7.361 seconds in last night’s women's short track 3,000m relay. Italy took silver and Group B’s winner, the Netherlands, earned bronze. Teams China and Canada were both penalized.
The penalty came as a mixed feeling of confusion, shock and sadness.
Li Yan, head coach of China's short track speed skating team, said they have appealed to the ISU technique committee to seek a fair explanation.
