In China, smartphone users can plant real trees through their cellphones. A company plants a real tree after a user plants a virtual one on the firm's Ant Forest app. It is an online platform where users could cultivate trees after making an online payment. As of August this year, herdsmen and farmers planted 10.25 million trees in Inner Mongolia and Gansu Province. Over 200 million online users cultivated trees in the desert. Alipay’s official Weibo account released a video of the trees in the desert, thanking the public. Many Chinese netizens said they did something that could bring a change and they are happy to do so.
