Israel sends extra police personnel to Jerusalem

Israel has sent additional police personnel to Jerusalem, while reiterating that Palestinian men under the age of 50 remain prohibited from entering the old city's al-Aqsa Mosque.
After Israel removed metal detectors on Thursday, thousands of Muslim worshippers surged into the mosque, leading to scuffles with police in which dozens were hurt.
Tensions have been high at the holy site over the last two weeks, ever since two Israeli police officers were killed. The incident prompted Israel to install metal detectors at the entrance to the site.
