Pakistan has issued its first transgender passport to Farzana Riaz, a 30-year-old transgender activist from Peshawar, Pakistan. /NetEase
On the passport, Farzana’s gender identification is X, instead of being a male or female. Farzana believes this is a step forward of transgender communities, especially among conservative South Asian countries. /NetEase
In 1997, Pakistan became one of the first countries legally recognizing a third sex, allowing transgender to obtain identity cards. /NetEase
