Moscow is hitting back after the US charged a dozen Russians it identified as intelligence officers. The allegations are the most detailed yet in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into meddling in the US election. Lucy Taylor reports from Moscow.
LUCY TAYLOR MOSCOW "Russia's government says the latest allegations will not affect the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin set for Monday. Even though, it says, the timing of these 12 indictments against Russian nationals was designed to spoil the atmosphere at that meeting. Russia has always denied interfering in American elections, and it says there is no evidence the people named work for military intelligence or were involved in hacking. But these criminal charges bring the investigation closer to the Russian government. And they may put Donald Trump under even more pressure to raise the issue when he sits down with President Putin.
