A 16-year-old Palestinian was killed and at least seven other Palestinian protesters were injured Friday evening in central Gaza, as tensions continued over Israel's restrictive policies at al-Aqsa mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that 16-year-old Hussein Abu Hasima was killed at the east of Bureij refugee camp, while another Palestinian was shot dead when he tried to stab Israeli soldiers in the Jerusalem-area town of al-Ram.
Witnesses said that Israeli forces had fired “heavily” on Palestinian protesters, live ammunition and tear gas have been used during the clash.
The violence was triggered when Israel
banned Muslim men under age 50 from entering the al-Aqsa mosque.
