Under the guidance of their mothers, two giant panda cubs that were bred in captivity began the second phase of their wilderness training on a mountain in southwestern China’s Sichuan Province on Friday. Researchers can monitor the pandas’ position in real time, thanks to wireless GPS collars on the mother pandas. The cubs will learn how to survive in the wild by foraging for bamboo, finding a place to sleep and searching for water.
