As CGTN covers the Summer Davos in Tianjin, it's important to enjoy all this historical city has to offer as well. My colleague Michael Wang, took one day out of his schedule covering the gathering to hop and ferry around town, immersing himself in Tianjin's culture.
As they say, if you want to experience a city's culture, go experience its food. The diversity of Tianjin food combines seafood galore and traditional snacks dating back hundreds of years.
Of course, Tianjin is much more than just traditional snacks. These clay figures are intricately handcrafted and unique to this city. They have close to a 200-year history and the craftsmanship is passed down from generation to generation. We're now in the 6th generation.
As the sun begins to set over Tianjin, one can also soak in this storied city from the water. The skylines and views across the banks of the Haihe River, which runs through the city, provide a beautiful juxtaposition of old and new. The waterways of the Haihe River were crucial for shipping grain from the south of China to Beijing. But these days, it's a perfect way to relax after taking in the land sights in Tianjin.
One must go to experience in Tianjin is something called "cross-talk". It's a traditional Chinese comedic act. One can consider it as stand-up comedy, but with two people. From street food to European buildings, to waterways, and now cross-talk, Tianjin has something for everyone. Michael Wang, CGTN.
