China has once again warned the US not to sign legislation allowing American officials travel to Taiwan to meet with their counterparts there. The bill has already been approved by both chambers of the US Congress. It now just needs President Donald Trump's signature to take effect.
LU KANG CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESMAN "I must once again state that the 'One China' principle is the political basis for U.S.- China relations. We urge the U.S. side to abide by the One China policy and its declaration to follow the China-U.S. 'Three Joint Communiques' and cease U.S.-Taiwan official exchanges and substantively increasing connections. The US must carefully deal with issues relating to Taiwan appropriately, so as to avoid seriously disrupting China-U.S. cooperation."
