Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang during his official visit to Hanoi. Wang said both countries made great progress last year, and that Vietnam was an important partner of China. He added that while they were both committed to opening up, they should also look to strengthen their development strategies and enhance their bilateral relations. Wang -- who was attending the 6th Greater Mekong Subregion summit in the Vietnameese capital this week -- also met with Myanmar's vice president and the Lao prime minister.
