A total of 7,000 pairs of shoes were lined up in front of the Capitol building on Tuesday morning by activists to represent children killed by gun violence in the United States since the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2012. Members of the activist organization Avaaz had asked for shoe donations from across the country. They arranged the pairs early on Tuesday morning and demanded the Congress act on gun reform.
