The death of a young Chinese university graduate who fell victim to a pyramid scheme on a job-seeking website has made national headlines and sparked online sympathy and anger. The body of Li Wenxing, 23, had sought job opportunities on a popular recruitment platform, was pulled from a pond last week. He had received a job offer from a fake IT company a few weeks earlier and traveled to Tianjin in northeast China.
Hosts of CGTN’s Dialogue encouraged graduates to report unfair treatment occurring at work, and called for regulations to oversee the online job market in order to eliminate possibilities of fraud cases.
