Diego Maradona picks Spain, Germany for World Cup

The legendary footballer Diego Maradona accepted CGTN's one-on-one interview request after coaching a 30 minutes friendship match on March 21 in Basel, Switzerland.
When talking about the winner of World Cup 2018 in Russia, he said Germany is the strongest team and then, Spain. But he still supports Argentina with a sense of regret. "Argentina, they have good players, so they have to fight".
He laughed a lot when mentioning Messi and the word "hero", because people always relate Messi as a hero if he can win the world football's showpiece.
"Messi has no more dreams to realize, he has won everything," said Maradona.
Maradona, who is also famous for “hand of God” goal, was most talkative when answering the question about Napoli and Italian football team. Referring to Italian team's failure to qualify for the tournament, Maradona said, "the players need to grow under their own flag, they should grow in their homeland".
