The US State Department says the country is not planning to contribute any money to fund Iraq's reconstruction drive at the Kuwait conference. Instead, it's encouraging private-sector investment.
A spokesperson said earlier that the US "sees that it's best for the countries and best for the region, too - and US taxpayers - to have other people participate in the reconstruction". Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is to lead a delegation to the conference, of around 2,300 private sector representatives. They are expected to talk about ways to help large-scale reconstruction taking place in Iraq.
