Former world No.1 Novak Djokovic beat Serbian countryman Dusan Lajovic 6-0, 6-1 in the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters on Monday.
The two-time Monte Carlo champion built good form at the opening frame, and took the first set soon by 6-0. Lajovic only got eight points during the first set.
Lajovic did eventually win one game at the start of the second set, and had a chance to turn the table back to a 2-1 lead with a break point, but Djokovic saved it and tightened his grip again.

Next up is a second-round tie against Borna Coric of Croatia.
Novak Djokovic achieved 12 Grand Slam titles in his career. In 2016 French Open, he became the third man to hold all four major titles at once, and the eighth player in history to achieve the Career Grand Slam.
In last July, Djokovic announced that he would take the rest of the 2017 season to fully recover from his elbow injury. Monday’s victory was his first since January’s Australian Open.
