As countries relax their visa requirements for Chinese citizens, opportunities have opened up for Chinese to start businesses overseas.
Food as a business is an obvious choice as Chinese restaurants are popular all over the world.
30-year-old Wang Louping from east China’s Zhejiang Province runs a Chinese restaurant in Morocco offering ordinary Sichuan cuisine like boiled fish, chili and sour potatoes and Ma Po bean curd. He said he has increased his income 10 times the level of his work in China.

Wang was one of the first to work in the African country. He started there when there were only 3,000 Chinese in the country and less than 1,000 Chinese visitors a year.
After Morocco visa exemptions for Chinese citizens in 2016, the number of Chinese visitors grew six-fold in half a year. Wang opened his restaurant, Great Wall, in January decorated in Chinese style.

He uses seasonings imported from China and purchases vegetables from the local market. Most customers are Chinese tourists, as the price can be somewhat expensive for locals. Wang also said as the two countries boost bilateral ties, more locals have an interest in learning Chinese.
Wang Louping is just one of thousands Chinese entrepreneurs oversea. There are more than 50 million Chinese living in every corner of the world.
