While most people's New Year's resolutions will focus on their physical health, or forming better habits, in Fu Xu's case, a veteran deliveryman for Jindong (JD.com), his goal for next year is to move closer to his hometown.

"2018's resolution is to work closer to my hometown, Liaocheng City, so I can take better care of my parents and children," said the father of two. "I'm also going to work harder to buy an apartment there, and give my family better living conditions."
Fu's position with Jingdong in Beijing averages about 10,000 yuan per month, pay that tends to be higher than the same type of job in suburban or rural parts of China. However, the pay doesn't come easy, as deliverymen are constantly faced with inclement weather, gridlocked driving conditions, and at times, a major surge in deliveries.
Nevertheless, Fu goes about his daily tasks unfazed.
"I aim to provide a high quality service with honesty and a friendly attitude," he says. "As a result, our customers keep coming back, which brings me more delivery work."
"We're like a big family here, thanks largely to Fu Xu," says Guo Xiaogang, his supervisor. "He helps younger team members with problems, and is very patient in how he works with the team and with customers."

Fu has been delivering packages for over four years, and says it helped him make good on his resolution last year: owning a car.
He now proudly drives his car around, when not riding around Beijing on his JD.com electric bicycle with rear wagon attached.
But he says whether he attains 2018's pledge or not, Fu is happy to be part of a winning and happy team at Jingdong.
"I've had a wonderful year here," he says. "I'm so happy we all help each other out, that's what makes things so great here."
