A women's ice hockey team might represent both Koreas at PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, as the Republic of Korea (ROK) offered to combine their team with the one from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The DPRK's International Olympic Committee (IOC) official announced it is considering ROK's proposal, Yonhap news agency reported on Saturday.
Yonhap also says ROK is requiring the IOC and the International Hockey Federation for acceptance to expand the women's hockey team roster to include DPRK players. The two sides will meet at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland to discuss details of their participation on January 20.
