[]
In men's hockey, Maxim Noreau of Canada scored the only goal as the two-time defending gold medalists beat Finland 1-nothing to reach the semi-finals. The Canucks lost starting goalie, Ben Scrivens to an injury in the second period, but Kevin Poulin filled in admirably not allowing a goal. Team Canada plays Germany in the next round, after their 4-3 overtime win over Sweden. The other semi will see the Czech Republic play the Olympic athletes of Russia. The Czechs beat the US in a shootout, Russia humbled Norway 6-1. And for a little history on hockey, here is our animated Mike Fox.
