More than three-hundred activities are featured at this year's festival. One of them is a Film Carnival, held at a production base in Huairou district, a suburb of Beijing. Visitors can experience what it's like to be a cast member, and also get some know-how into filmmaking. Take a look!
The highlight of the carnival is a newly built scenic area: a replica of the African film spot for last year's smash Chinese hit film "Wolf Warrior 2". This is a replica of the street where the high-octane gun fight took place.
For those who dream of becoming an actor or actress, this is the place for them. They can portray characters in a costume drama. For those curious about how a movie is churned out, they can learn the process from staff members who are doing on-the-spot demonstrations .
STAFF MEMBER RESPONSIBLE FOR FILMING DEMOS "Visitors can learn the basic process of making a film, from set design, to make up, to filming. For those who want to act in a movie, they can put on the costumes and give it a try."
But the most satisfying thing for movie fans might be this: going into the studio, putting on special clothes and standing in front of a green screen. On the monitor, it looks like they are really acting in a movie!
VISITOR "Previously I thought movies were all about filming and shooting pictures. Now, looking at all these scenes and procedures in post production, I realize that filmmaking involves a lot of things."
Film fans can catch the carnival until May the 1st.
