China aims to improve the way it tells its stories to the world

China is continuing its efforts to improve the way its media communicates with the outside world. 
A seminar on international communication opened on Thursday in the eastern city of Yantai in Shandong Province. 
Deputy Director of the State Council Information Office, Guo Weimin, spoke at the opening ceremony. He told the seminar that China is now at the center of the world stage and the world wants to learn more about the country. 
He said communication and media workers need to find better ways to tell their stories so that China's voice is heard. 
Some 400 people from universities, think-tanks and media organizations attended the seminar.
