Experts at a high-level dialogue between China and US think-tanks say more communication is needed in the current trade tensions. The two-day dialogue started in Washington on Wednesday. Participants said economic and trade ties are part of the foundation of bilateral relations, and more dialogue can avert any further escalation.
As for trade tensions sparked by the US, Chinese delegates said making China the scapegoat cannot solve the US problems. They said attempts to isolate China will only severely harm the world economy as well as that of the US. Delegates from the US said dialogue will eventually be needed for the US to solve trade tensions with China. More than 40 former high-level officials and think-tank experts from the two countries attended the dialogue.
