The UN Security Council has postponed a vote on a draft resolution demanding a ceasefire across Syria on Saturday.
The resolution was drafted by Kuwait and Sweden, demanding a 30-day ceasefire to provide humanitarian aid and evacuate the critically ill. A vote on the text was originally scheduled for 1600 GMT Friday but the council members failed to reach consensus over the timetable for a ceasefire. An earlier text provides for the start of a ceasefire 72 hours after the adoption of the resolution. Sweden's UN ambassador said the text will be voted on Saturday one way or another.
