More than 4,000 people braved freezing winter temperatures and took part in a sea swimming contest on January 7 in the resort of Haeundae in Busan, South Korea. This was the 31st Haeundae Polar Bear Swim Festival, first held in 1988 to celebrate the Summer Olympics held in Seoul that year.
