The need to read: Following last Tuesday's devastating earthquake in southwestern China's Sichuan Province, officials, medical staff and volunteers there have been busy with relief work. But so too has a team from the state cultural department, helping survivors re-connect with the rest of the world by providing more than 1,000 books and newspapers for locals.
