Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly plans to testify before US Congress. The testimony would come shortly after Zuckerberg turned down British lawmakers' invitation to explain how the personal information of 50 million Facebook users ended up with a political consultancy.
Facebook on Tuesday said it had received invitations to testify before Congress and that its representatives were talking with lawmakers. It was unclear when or before which committee Zuckerberg would testify. The US Federal Trade Commission has opened an investigation into the breach of privacy. Meanwhile, Facebook shares have dropped almost 17 percent since March 16th when it first acknowledged that user data had been improperly channelled to Cambridge Analytica.
