The China Chamber of International Commerce, on behalf of the Chinese business community, has expressed its firm opposition to the protectionist measures the US Government intends to take. Speaking to CGTN, its Vice President Chen Zhou says the Section 301 report is seriously lacking in facts and evidence.
CHEN ZHOU, VICE PRESIDENT CHINA CHAMBER OF INT'L COMMERCE "We participated in the Section 301 investigation, and submitted nearly one thousand pages of written comments to disprove the allegations. In fact, the dozens of comments submitted to the US government by the public do not provide enough substantial evidence to support allegations like 'mandatory technology transfer'. On the contrary, most of the comments indicate the protection of intellectual property rights in China has significantly improved. We strongly urge the U.S. government to work together with the Chinese government to resolve differences in a constructive manner, and avoid any 'trade wars'. The two sides should create a stable international business environment, abide by international rules and laws, and safeguard the common interests of business communities on both sides."
