Olympic champion Chen Long entertained the home crowd to win his fourth China Open Super Series by overcoming world No.1 Viktor Axelsen from Denmark on Sunday.
Chen, the sixth seed, emerged victorious 21-16, 14-21, 21-13 after 72 minutes, extending his impressive record against Axelsen. The 28-year-old has won eight of their nine meetings.
China won two other trophies on the day. Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan won the women's doubles beating the Korean pair of Hye Rin Kim and Lee So Hee and the newly formed team of Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong beat Denmark's Mathias Christiansen and Christinna Pedersen to lift the mixed doubles title.

In women’s singles, Japan's Akane Yamaguchi comfortably beat Chinese qualifier Gao Fangjie 21-13, 21-15 to lift the trophy.
In the men's doubles, top seeds Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia were too strong for the Danish pair of Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen. They came out victorious 21-19, 21-11 in just 40 minutes for their seventh Super Series title of the year and second straight title in China.
