Chinese Terminology: New type of major power relations

The term "new type of major power relations" particularly refers to recent calls for a new major-power relationship between the US and China.
During a trip to Washington in early 2012, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for “a new type of relationship between major countries in the 21st century.”
Ever since then, President Xi has mentioned the term at least 32 times on different occasions, to emphasize the importance China places on its international relations, especially its relations with the US.
And the concept has been generally endorsed by leaders in Washington that the US and China should work together to tackle the world's problems rather than confront each other.
As the two most economically and increasingly diplomatically inter-dependent countries in the world, many see China and the US coming together to provide global solutions for problems such as nuclear proliferation, terrorism, infrastructure development and open and fair trade. More unites them than divides them.
China will host US President Donald Trump for a state visit in Beijing in November, when they will be eager not only to address the problems of today, but also to set the tone for the future of China-US relations and the rest of the world.
