Two injured after blast hits central Kiev

Two people have been injured in an explosion in the center of Ukraine’s capital city Kiev as the country marked Independence Day on Thursday, officials said.
One man and one woman were wounded, said a police statement, adding that they received a report of a blast of an unknown object near the building of the Ukrainian government at 11:06 GMT.
The incident took place when US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis was on a visit to the country.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
