DPRK ambassador Kang Chol has been declared persona non-grata in Malaysia and has been ordered to leave the country within 48 hours. This came after he criticized Malaysia’s investigation into the killing of the DPRK leader’s half-brother. Malaysia demanded an apology from the envoy since he said the DPRK could not trust Malaysia’s handling of the inquiry, but says it did not receive one. Kim Jong Nam, the half-brother of Kim Jong Un, died three weeks ago at a Kuala Lumpur airport. Malaysia has not directly blamed the DPRK for the attack, but there is widespread suspicion that Pyongyang was responsible.

A terrorist attack took place in the vicinity of the Palace of Westminster in London, seat of the British Parliament. The attacker drove a car into pedestrians on the pavement along the Westminster Bridge, injuring more than 50 people, four of them fatally. After the car was crashed into the Palace grounds, the attacker abandoned it and ran into New Palace Yard where he fatally stabbed an unarmed police officer. He was then shot by an armed police officer and died at the scene. Amaq News Agency, which is linked to Islamic State, said the attacker answered the group's calls to target citizens of states that are fighting against it, though the claim was questioned by the UK police and government.
