Our reporter Wang Mengzhen takes us to the Garden of Hunan Province and shows us how the people there lived more than two thousand years ago.
Welcome to the Garden of central China's Hunan Province. If the opening dance manages to capture your attention, the gate made with rocks from local mountains adds a sense of mystery. You never know what's inside until you actually walk through it.
Such a utopian-style garden. The whole design is based on a scenic spot in Hunan named "the Peach Garden" or Taohuayuan located in Changde city of Hunan province, originated from a well-known poetry work in ancient China, depicting a fairy-tale garden just like this.
The four men here portray the real scene of the exact four activities in Hunan's folk culture: fishing, cutting firewood, reading and farming.
Along with the attractive performances, you can also make your own leicha—local tea mixed with peanuts, ginger, and tea leaves.
And don't forget to appreciate the local plants such as the peach blossom, that's exactly the poetic lifestyle people in HUNAN are seeking. Wang Mengzhen, CGTN, at the HUNAN garden of the Beijing International Horticultural expo.
