China Development Forum: Participants call for deeper cooperation between countries

Let's get to our special coverage of the China Development Forum 2019, which kicked-off here in Beijing on Saturday. Forum delegates are calling for deeper cooperation between countries at a time of a global economic slowdown. CGTN's Guan Xin is there.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the China Development Forum that our world is facing greater challenges than ever before. And he called for openness and trust among major economies.
Professor Li Daokui, a former adviser to China's central bank, emphasized joint leadership from the U.S., Europe and China.
LI DAOKUI, PROFESSOR TSINGHUA UNIVERSITY "Firstly, my observation is that the United State's leadership in globalization is weakening. And secondly, the U.S., Europe and China cooperate on an equal basis, and lead globalization together will be the best future for us."
HAN WENXIU, EXECUTIVE DEPUTY DIRECTOR CENTRAL FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC AFFAIRS COMMISSION "We will continue to ensure a level playing field for investors from around the world, and advance bilateral cooperation that won't harm third parties and create more tri-lateral and multi-lateral cooperation opportunities and platforms, to achieve win-win prosperity."
The importance of dialogue is also highlighted by business leaders, amid rising protectionism and geopolitical tensions.
