Spain's Garbine Muguruza defeated American Venus Williams to claim the women's singles' tennis title at Wimbledon on Saturday.
In the men and women’s double event, Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo took four-and-a-half hours to win an epic Wimbledon doubles final, while Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina earned the women's title in 55 minutes.
Garbine Muguruza, 23, won a keenly-contested opening set 7-5, before romping to the second, 6-0, for the victory.
Muguruza, playing in just her fourth championship at the All-England Club, reached the final two years ago but was beaten in straight sets by Serena Williams, sister of Venus.
Muguraza entered the final ranked No. 15 in the world, but will now rise to No.5. It's her second Grand Slam title.
Melo will return to the No. 1 ranking in men's doubles with the win.
