Fighting has been intense in the southern Philippines as military forces renewed a push on Tuesday against ISIL-linked rebels in Marawi.
A military spokesperson said the aim was to end the fighting before Eid, the biggest festival for Muslims and which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, armed US troops are present on the ground near the besieged southern city, but the Philippine military said US troops are not involved in fighting militants.
