Central gov’t upgrades partnership agreement with HK

The Chinese central government has upgraded its economic partnership agreement with Hong Kong.
Two new agreements, one on investment, the other on economic and technological cooperation, have been added to the original Closer Economic Partnership Agreement. Through this upgraded version, Hong Kong investors can now gain greater access to the mainland’s primary industries, from shipping and aviation production to resource exploitation and financial markets.
Chinese authorities say it shows the central government's support for the region's long-term prosperity and stability.
