Rare advection fog shrouded Heze City in east China’s Shandong Province on Friday, creating a fascinating winter fairyland. The advection fog arrived in the downtown area in the early morning following the first snowfall of 2018 one day earlier. Aerial shots showed high-rise buildings being partially hidden in the thick fog, adding a mysterious air to the city. Advection fog occurs when moist air passes over a cool surface by advection and is cooled. This foggy scene lasted nearly two hours.
