US President Barack Obama returned to his adoptive hometown of Chicago and addressed America and the world for his farewell speech. Capping his eight-year presidency, Obama recast his “yes we can” campaign credo as “yes we did.” Apart from listing landmark achievements of his presidency, he urged Americans to stand up for US values and reject discrimination during the transition to the presidency of Republican Donald Trump. In an emotional speech, he wiped away tears as he thanked his family for their support.
