Countries around the world are experiencing extreme weather conditions, with heat waves causing wildfires in California in western US and Los Angeles recording its highest temperature in over a century.
Firefighters in Canada are battling more than 200 wildfires in British Columbia. The first state of emergency in 14 years was issued. 
In France, Paris witnessed a record level of rainfall for one hour at 49 millimeters. Various metro stations were closed due to flooding. Also the recent deluge in Japan's southwest has left 25 people dead, with 15,000 people still displaced.
In India, at least 23 people were killed and over a dozen injured by lightning and thunderstorms across the eastern state of Bihar.
