Xi, Macron vow further cooperation

China and France have vowed to cement bilateral ties and forge steady and long-term friendly cooperation during a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Hamburg on Saturday.
The two leaders have agreed to deepen cooperation in fields including aerospace and nuclear energy, as well as exploit new collaborations on finance, food, agriculture and joint renewable energy project. 
Xi also expressed support for the Paris Climate Agreement and empathized on China's determination to shoulder the responsibility within the framework.

During the meeting, Macron praised the long-standing friendship between France and China, and showed his agreement on the development of bilateral relations, saying that France highly values the comprehensive strategic relation with China, a key partner in cooperation and an important force in international affairs.
Macron pointed out that both France and China have shared interests and similar standpoints of heated international issues and should work together to promote world peace and prosperity.
Macron is expected to visit China at the end of this year or early next year, reported Reuters citing the French president's office.
