Tsunami detected after M7.0 earthquake hits New Caledonia

A 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit 82 kilometers (51 miles) east of New Caledonia's Loyalty Islands in the South Pacific at 9:43 a.m. local time on Monday (2243 GMT Sunday), according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Tsunami waves have been detected. 
The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers. 
No casualties have been reported so far.
