S. Africa's President Zuma arrives in Xiamen for BRICS Summit

South African President Jacob Zuma arrived in Xiamen on Saturday morning to attend the BRICS Summit, which will be held in the coastal Chinese city from September 3 to 5.
Leaders from five BRICS member countries, as well as from Egypt, Guinea, Mexico, Tajikistan and Thailand will gather in Xiamen to discuss cooperation.
Zuma is the first leader to arrive in Xiamen for the summit.
South Africa joined the BRICS in 2010, becoming the only African country within the cooperation framework.
According to figures provided by the South African Presidency, the country's exports to other BRICS countries increased from 123 billion rand (9.5 billion US dollars) in 2011 to 138.2 billion rand (10.7 billion US dollars) in 2016.
In the same period, its imports from other BRICS countries also increased from 115 billion rand (8.9 billion US dollars) in 2011 to 230 billion rand (17.8 billion US dollars).
