Venezuela's security officials dragged opposition leaders Leopoldo Lopez and Antonio Ledezma from their homes and sent them back to jail, their families said on Tuesday.
At a news conference in Madrid, Ledezma's wife showed a video of the moment her husband was taken away. The two men were removed from their homes in an overnight raid and taken to the Ramo Verde military prison.
In a statement announcing the jailing of the two opposition leaders, the Supreme Court said they were planning to flee the country and had violated terms of their house arrest by making political statements and speaking to media.
The men are accused of calling on Venezuelans to defy a temporary ban on protests against Maduro over the weekend during elections for an assembly tasked with drawing up a new constitution.
