Over the past 12 months, there has been a rise in violent incidents across Germany leading many to believe it is impossible to successfully integrate refugees. Chancellor Angela Merkel has come under a great deal of political pressure over her open-door migration policy, as figures show Germany processed more asylum seekers last year than the rest of Europe put together, mostly from Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.
