Manchester United started their campaign with a home match against West Ham. It is the Red Devils' second year under manager Jose Mourinho, and he would be targeting a significant improvement on last season's sixth-placed finish.
A lot of attention is being placed on Romelu Lukaku, a striker Mourinho once discarded at Chelsea.
The opening goal of the Red Devils' Premier League campaign was a fantastic little ball into the box in the first half from Marcus Rashford that gave the Belgian forward the chance, and he kissed it off the left post and in.
And Lukaku would not be done there, as seven minutes after the break, he rises high to meet Henrikh Mkhitaryan's free kick and heads it home. The 75-million-pound transfer from Everton looks to be a good move after about an hour of playing time into the new season.

"Romelu knows me well. He knows that sometimes strikers they can play very well for the team without scoring goals." Mourinho said. "He knows that from me. No pressure at all. But today was good, and very effective, very objective in the first goal especially."
Mkhitaryan threads a pass to substitute Anthony Martial who adds a third in the 87th minute.
Moments later, Martial slips a simple pass to Paul Pogba, who does the rest, firing home a long range effort to complete the route to scoring 4-0 in the final as Mourinho's side got off to a dream start.
