At least one person died and three more were injured during heavy rainfall that caused floods in Albania on December 1. The deluge destroyed 18 houses, while power cuts affected 71,000 residents. Ports and airport were suspended, and schools were closed nationwide. The army dispatched some 500 troops overnight to evacuate hundreds of residents in flood-hit areas.
