The US Navy has called off a search and rescue mission four days after a collision between a US destroyer and an oil tanker near Singapore.
The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore said in a statement on Thursday that the US Navy will "focus on search and recovery efforts on USS John S. McCain for the missing sailors," suggesting that officials had given up hope of finding any of the missing alive.
The US Navy said the body of one victim on the guided missile destroyer has been found and identified, while nine other sailors are still missing.
Singapore will continue to support the US Navy in their search, the MPA said.
