US President Donald Trump’s China visit is “highly anticipated” and leaders of both sides will hold “strategic talks” on major issues of common concern during meeting in Beijing, including topics of the denuclearization of Korean Peninsula.
Hua Chunying, spokeswomen of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the remark at Tuesday’s daily presser.
“China attaches great importance to the US President’s visit to China,” said Hua. “They will reach important consensus based on the Mar-a-Lago meeting and the G20 meeting in Hamburg.”
This is the first foreign leader's state visit to China since the conclusion of the 19th CPC National Congress.
Trump is scheduled to visit Beijing from November 8 to 10 as part of his Asian trip started from November 3, including Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines.
During his stay in Beijing, there will also be informal interactions between the two sides as well as prepared formal events, according to Hua.
