Two weeks from the beginning of 2018, most people will make the same New Year’s resolution – cut down on their weight. Common New Year’s resolutions include eating healthier, working out more and losing weight. Though many will make this resolution, few will succeed in making the changes.
However, a young couple in the US recently inspired many by sharing how they lost 180 kilograms collectively in two years.
“By changing our minds, habits and emotional triggers, we changed our lives,” said the couple in an interview to ABC News.

They started their mission in 2015 as a New Year’s resolution, when Lexi Reed was 220 kilograms and her husband Danny Reed was 120 kilograms, both of them far from healthy.
“I never expected to have such an impact on so many people by losing weight,” Lexi said. “I just wanted to get healthy.”

They now weigh 82 and 86 kilograms respectively, drawing much admiration. What has impressed people more is how they have achieved their weight loss.
According to the couple, they have lost all their weight by working out and having a healthy diet together, with no fancy meal plan, no pills and no surgery.

“We stopped sitting on the coach every night,” Lexi said. Instead, they chose to hit the gym five times a week.
For them, the hardest, yet most effective part was to changing their relationship with food. “To go from eating out for every single meal to teaching myself how to cook every day, it was a frustrating change,” Lexi said. “And by learning to cook our own meals we were in charge of what we were eating.”
